Pupil Premium

What is the Pupil Premium?

Research shows that children who are from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds do not perform as well as peers with similar ability. The Pupil Premium is additional funding from the government to help schools close the gap between children from low-income and other disadvantaged families and their peers.

Pupil Premium is primarily aimed at Reception to Year 11 pupils who are from low-income families and are or have been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), children who are in care or who have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months and also for children whose parents are serving in the armed forces.
