Year 6 Learning from Home

Summer Term 6 (June onwards)

Hello Year 6s!

Thanks for all your work last week – we’ve really enjoyed reading and seeing what you’ve done!

We have now reached the last week of your last term in Year 6 as all the Year 6s are leaving on Friday 10th July.

We hope that all the activities over the past few weeks have helped you to feel ‘secondary ready’ by practising all the skills you have learnt across the whole Junior School curriculum. So for this last week, make sure you continue to apply yourself to the very best of your abilities and show what you are truly capable of achieving.

All of your activities for this week are explained below, and you can find any tasks related to them on the resources page of the school website linked below.

Don’t forget to read the instructions carefully – they will help you to understand exactly what to do.

Work through some English and Maths every day in the order listed and then have a go at the other subjects one each day. Remember to find time for reading, practising times tables and keeping active too!

As well as practising your times tables on TT Rockstars, you can practise your number bonds on Numbot to keep your maths skills sharp!

Here's a suggested routine for how you might organise your day to include a bit of everything.

There's a PE lesson here every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9am for keeping active. Great way to start the day!

Aim to tell other people in your class about what you’ve been up to, follow the links on the website to find your class’s 'Keeping Connected' Padlet. Remember to write your first name and first initial only when you post to let us know who you are.

Some Year 6 children have now returned to school so, as there is a smaller Padlet online group than there has been, let's all keep in touch on the Year 6 Padlet.  Of course, you can still connect with your class and teacher through the 6G, 6S and 6T Padlets, but the Year 6 Padlet provides a nice opportunity to bring all the home learners together at this time.

If you want to do something else, you can have a go at any activity you like on Purple Mash, or follow one of the other websites suggested on the school website.

We wish you all the best for your future – plus keep an eye on the website for some special Leavers’ videos!
